Blake Street Community Garden (243 Blake St) was transformed from a trash filled parking lot to a green space, and finally to a community garden in 2005. Due to lead contamination in the ground soil, this garden uses raised wooden beds where individuals/families can safely grow their own food. Maple trees, baby apple trees and raspberry bushes also adorn this garden space.
